Benedictine Brother Augustine Campion dies at 74

It is with heavy hearts that Abbot Cletus and the monks of St. Bernard Abbey announce the death of our confrere, Brother Augustine "Gus" Campion, O.S.B. on Friday, September 8.
Brother Gus professed his vows as a monk of St. Bernard Abbey on March 19, 1964. Serving the abbey and our schools in a variety of roles over the years, he enjoyed many lasting friendships among alumni and others who are dear to St. Bernard. He was a exemplary monk, a kind and thoughtful soul, and true community man who will be greatly missed by his brothers. He died peacefully at the abbey shortly before 7:00 p.m. September 8, surrounded by several monks while the abbot led the prayers for the dying. He was 74 years old.

Br. Augustine's body will be received at the Abbey Church on Thursday, September 14 at 7:00 pm followed immediately by Vespers of the Dead.

The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, September 15 at 4:00 pm followed by Vespers of the Dead and Rite of Committal at the Abbey Cemetery.
