St. Barnabas invites all to a Special Healing Service and
Day of Reflection on Marriage and Family, Oct. 26-27
Father Doug Vu, pastor of St. Barnabas Church in Birmingham, invites all to a very special weekend of hope and healing. Great hope for holy marriages and holy families and healing of wounds. We have all been wounded – directly or indirectly – as individuals, married couples, and families, by a culture that suffers from the fruits of the sexual revolution – divorce, contraception, abortion, sterilization, and pornography.
The weekend will feature special guest priest, Father Anthony Odiong, a native of Nigeria and now pastor of St. Anthony of Padua in Luling, LA. Father Anthony received the gift of healing in 2000. He sees in his priesthood a great fatherhood and communicates with great tenderness and love, but also calls us to holiness with a deep conviction. Both Father Anthony and Father Vu will begin the weekend on Friday evening at 6 p.m. with Confession, Mass at 7 p.m. and Healing Service at 8 p.m. Light refreshments to follow.
Continuing Saturday morning, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., a morning of reflection, “The Divine Design: Marriage and the Eucharist” will be presented by John Martignoni, director of evangelization for the Diocese of Birmingham. Father Vu will also be present to provide commentary and answer questions for participants.
St. Barnabas is located at 7921 1st Ave N in Birmingham. For more information, contact Dana Foss at 254-366-8486
