Benedictine Retreat Center to offer retreat on Hildegard of Bingen, Feb. 1-3
On the weekend of Feb. 1-3, the Benedictine Sisters Retreat Center will offer a retreat focused upon the life and gifts of St. Hildegard of Bingen, a 12th century Benedictine visionary, artist, composer, and physician. The retreat will include reflection on many of Hildegard’s visions, using her remarkable paintings and writings. We will also ponder some of her suggestions for living a deeper spiritual life, as well as enjoy music she composed for liturgical prayer. There will be time for personal reflection and some group sharing.
The weekend will begin on Friday evening and conclude with the noon meal on Sunday. The $245 cost for a private room includes accommodations, meals, and program materials. Shared rooms are available at $205/person. For more information or to register, please contact the Retreat Center at 256-734-8302 or by e-mail at
